This course is about how we remove nitrogen from wastewater using the activated sludge process. For those of you who may not know, the activated sludge process is a system that uses microorganisms to remove dissolved pollutants like BOD, nitrogen, and phosphorus. This course is intended to introduce basic concepts and discuss typical roles/responsibilities an operator has in running these systems.
